NBA2k20 Tournament
October 26, 2019:
The first PBIS event of this school year is a tournament of the popular NBA2K20 video game. Students selected a teammate for this 2-on-2 tournament and had to submit 20 Shark Cards to enter. We have 13 teams signed up to compete for the championship and a pizza party. This is a double-elimination tournament which means that teams will be eliminated once they lose two games. The draft was held yesterday and each team selected two NBA players that they will play to compete with throughout the tournament.

The Great White Carnivore
December 20, 2018:
To wrap up the 2018 year, I collaborated with my Co-PBIS Coach to bring South Lake their very first Great White Carnivore! Just like the OC Fair, the Carnivore held various fair games and opportunities to win prizes.
Students were able to buy pre-sale tickets for an extended lunch or could enter the Carnivore during lunch using their Shark Cards. We had many games including: Bowling, ping pong toss, bucket toss, balloon darts, ring toss, corn hole, putt putt golf, WAR, basketball shot, ladder ball… etc! At each game, students had the chance to win tickets and turn it in for prizes at the end. The prize selection was extensive. Students were able to trade in their tickets for baked goods, food and various goods such as: Backpacks, mini basketball hoop, collector mugs, pop-sockets, pillows, lava lamp, phone chargers and more! It was a successful day thanks to my PE TAs, ASB and staff (Thank you Mr. Lin, Coach Garcia, Coach Manalo, Mrs. Benner, Ms. Kenney and Ms. Watkins) who helped run the games and prize booths. Also, a special thank you to Mr. Barnes our South Lake Computer Support Specialist who came out dressed as Santa Clause!
